We had one of the best weeks of our lives visiting Leleana Eco Resort. Lily took us in, welcomed us to her ancestors' land and treated us like part of the family, experiencing local villages, beautiful fresh fruit and seafood and a look into the history of Kolombangara Island. If you are looking for a beautiful tropical paradise getaway that gives your mind, body and soul a reset, this is the place to book! Situated in between a calm and peaceful saltwater lake and a pristine coral reef, it feels like a dream waking up each day. The bungalows are right on the water, so you can hear the soft crashing of small waves as you go to sleep each night. We slept with our windows open, and mosquitoes were almost non-existent too! We've never experienced a stay quite like this - especially to get the best of both worlds; a scenic lake on one side and beautiful ocean view on the other. Being a family run resort, Leleana's tours involve many of the locals and it's fantastic to see our money was helping to support them too. Some highlights were the River Cruise, WW2 Tank, Village Tour, Island Hopping and Bird Watching. *Staying at Leleana Eco Resort was truly an unforgettable experience that we will hold close to our hearts forever. It was extremely relaxing, beautiful, and everyone here was super friendly. We had such a fulfilling stay and will be thinking about this holiday for a very long time! Leleana snorkeling! Our latest Review from Sabine and Kurt: Aril 2026...Thank you! Enchanting lakes on one side and top snorkeling sea on the other side. Impeccable bungalows, Lily's a great cook, decks to watch the sunset and sunrise for hours. Visit villages where they hardly see any tourists (you are the attraction), hike up the mountain, boat around the mirror lakes and see the occasional crocodile wjile the colourful parrots circle around you. Like a lot of locally owned hotels on Solomon, Leleana is small (we were alone), feels like home and the owners do everything they can to make you feel welcome. They appreciate when you book directly (via Booking/touroperators, they loose a huge percentage!), your booking helps support them, their families and local communities. (Tip: bring your own wine/beer/soft drinks from Gizo/Honiara or Munda if you like those, as most small resorts don't sell it, moslty religion related. And not all have snorkeling gear.) Feedack from our latest guests: Our stay at Leleana Resort was nothing short of magical! The snorkeling was not just amazing — it was the best of our entire trip. Truly world-class. The reefs were bursting with life, crystal-clear water, vibrant coral, and an unbelievable diversity of marine species. Every time we slipped into the water it felt like entering a living aquarium. What makes this place even more special is how untouched and pure everything feels. Set on a dormant volcano, the island has a raw, wild beauty that is becoming so rare in the world. It feels authentic, unspoiled, and deeply connected to nature. From our bungalow veranda, we watched breathtaking sunsets paint the sky in gold and pink, while reef sharks cruised by, dolphins played in the distance, and even octopus made appearances.
